About the Role
The Equine Therapy Centre has worked closely with local veterinary practices to provide therapy and rehabilitation for both residential and visiting horses for 25 years. We apply a multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment and rehabilitation of horses with musculoskeletal injuries. The facility includes both a high-speed treadmill and brand-new water treadmill, supporting the commercial, teaching and research and knowledge exchange activities. We are looking for an experienced manager to work with our existing dedicated team to drive forward the commercial services of the Centre whilst maintaining excellent practice standards and customer service.
The requirements of the role are:
- To manage the Equine Therapy Centre, ensuring it demonstrates best practice in terms of horse care, commercial services, and practical and educational experience.
- To effectively lead and develop the staff team to achieve high standards of horse care.
- To work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to meet both commercial and educational requirements of the Equine Therapy Centre.
- To take responsibility for standards of practice, financial and other record keeping and providing budgetary reports to senior management.
The successful candidate will be expected to start in July/August.
About You
- Have a high level of industry experience within a veterinary practice, rehabilitation centre or competition yard.
- Experience of managing a team of staff and ability to instill a positive working environment.
- Excellent administrative and communication skills.
- A qualification in Equine Veterinary Nursing, Veterinary Physiotherapy or equine degree is desirable.
- Evidence of experience in office management, including financial record keeping, staff rotas, maintaining case records and health and safety protocols.
