About the Role
As Equine Therapy Centre Manager, you will oversee the full operation of the Centre ensuring exceptional horse welfare, an excellent client experience and a high-quality learning environment for students. You will lead a small specialist team and work closely with vet partners and academic departments to integrate rehabilitation practice into teaching and research.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the day to day running of the Equine Therapy Centre
- Ensuring best practice rehabilitation and welfare of therapy horses
- Managing and developing a team of specialist staff
- Supporting teaching, student learning and research activity
- Developing commercial income and industry partnerships
- Maintaining strong relationships with veterinary practices and horse owners
- Ensuring safe, sustainable and compliant operation of the centre
- Promoting the Centre through outreach, marketing and CPD activity
This is a hands-on leadership role combining yard management, people leadership and academic contribution.
About You
You will be an experienced equine professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for welfare-led practice and education. You will likely have:
- RCVS Registered Equine Veterinary Nurse, RAMP Registered Veterinary Physiotherapist, Equine Science degree or equivalent industry experience
- Significant yard or rehabilitation centre experience
- Experience leading or supervising staff
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of horse management to at least BHS Level 4 (or equivalent)
- A collaborative approach to teaching and knowledge sharing
Experience within a veterinary practice, rehabilitation centre or education setting would be highly beneficial.
