About Us

At Genesis, we provide a therapeutic, stable, and nurturing environment for young people aged 13 to 21 who have experienced significant trauma, emotional and behavioural difficulties, or challenging life circumstances. Our homes, located in picturesque Gloucestershire and Worcestershire border settings, offer a structured and secure environment underpinned by clinical and educational expertise. In addition, we also operate a specialist SEN school, ensuring each young person receives the education and emotional support they need to thrive.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Therapeutic Care Worker (STCW) or a qualified Therapeutic Care Worker ready to progress into a supervisory role. This position offers an opportunity to make a lasting impact on young lives by providing compassionate, trauma-informed care within a stable and well-supported environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a dedicated team of care workers.
  • Lead daily routines, ensuring high standards of care and safeguarding.
  • Play an active role in planning and delivering individualised support plans.
  • Provide consistent emotional, social, and behavioural guidance to young people.
  • Collaborate closely with our management and therapeutic teams.
  • Maintain essential documentation and assist with staff development.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential).
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a care setting (preferred).
  • A caring and emotionally resilient nature, with a strong commitment to safeguarding.
  • The ability to provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to less experienced staff.
  • Good written and organisational skills for managing documentation and compliance.
  • A valid UK manual driving licence (essential for transporting young people).
  • The ability to work flexible shifts across a 7-day rota (including weekends and sleep-ins).

You may bring additional value through:

  • Creative, practical, or interpersonal skills such as music, sport, DIY, IT, or tutoring.
  • An understanding of OFSTED or CQC expectations (training can also be provided).
