Hartmann Young is partnering with a leading global food ingredients manufacturer entering an exciting new phase of growth within its functional dairy ingredient portfolio. As the organisation strategically winds down its specialist ingredients division to focus on dairy innovation, it is now seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager to support the commercial rollout of new functional ingredient solutions across key customers in the UK and European markets.

This is a senior, customer-facing commercial role responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening customer partnerships, and applying deep technical understanding of dairy applications to support product performance. The successful candidate will also play a pivotal role in shaping and developing a new Technical Sales team of 2–3 people during 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial development for the company’s new functional dairy ingredient portfolio, supporting both existing accounts and new business opportunities
  • Provide technical expertise to customers across dairy applications (e.g., cheese, cultured products, beverages), ensuring effective product integration and performance
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer retention, account stability, and long-term partnership growth
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Innovation, Applications, and Supply Chain teams to deliver tailored technical solutions
  • Support the build-out and mentoring of a new Technical Sales team (2–3 people) launching in early 2025
  • Develop market insights, competitive intelligence, and strategic recommendations to steer the ongoing dairy-focused portfolio transition
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and customer training sessions
  • Represent the company at relevant trade shows, technical forums, and industry events

Ideal Candidate

  • 7–10+ years’ experience in technical sales, account management, or applications engineering within food ingredients, preferably dairy or functional ingredients
  • Strong technical understanding of dairy formulations, processing, and functional ingredient behaviour
  • Proven track record of high customer retention, relationship building, and recurring revenue growth
  • Experience supporting customers through product transition or category expansion
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where new portfolios and processes are being established
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical and commercial stakeholdersDegree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
