Job Description
A growing life sciences company is seeking a Scientist to support the development and validation of next-generation nucleic acid extraction and diagnostic technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative R&D projects in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and validate high-yield nucleic acid extraction methods for diverse sample types and infectious targets
- Optimise LAMP assays for integration into point-of-care diagnostic platforms
- Design, execute, and analyse laboratory experiments to support product development
- Maintain detailed records, reports, and presentations of experimental data
- Prepare and perform QC of master mixes, reagents, and buffers for CE-marked and RUO products
- Support cross-functional projects and contribute to ongoing R&D initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genomics, Microbiology, or related discipline (Master’s/PhD preferred but not essential)
- Experience in PCR, LAMP, nucleic acid extraction, and biological sample processing
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality results on schedule
- Adaptable and proactive mindset, comfortable in a dynamic R&D setting
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
Desirable Experience
- Regulated laboratory environments (e.g., IVD, CE, ISO)
- Infectious disease and antimicrobial resistance
- DNA sequencing, NGS, or digital PCR
- Automated molecular diagnostics systems
- Work in CL2 labs and precision dilution techniques
