Hartmann Young have partnered with a Biotechnology company in the East Anglia region of the UK, who are expanding their team with the addition of a Principle Engineer who will focus on driving mechanical design and product development; taking products from concept through to manufacturing in an accelerated environment.
Role:
- Take ownership of full product development lifecycle, including design transfer to manufacturing.
- Create and develop detailed CAD models using SolidWorks.
- Work closely with manufacturing partners, to ensure design for manufacture (DFM).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects to tight timelines.
- Identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and implement practical engineering solutions.
- Support rapid iteration cycles in a fast-paced development environment.
- Contribute to documentation aligned with regulated product development standards (ISO).
Person:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Strong proficiency in CAD/SolidWorks.
- Experience working through full product development lifecycle.
- Experience within a regulated industry (e.g. medical devices or similar).
- Familiarity with ISO product development processes.
- Experience within medical devices or diagnostics.
- Exposure to IVDR or similar regulatory frameworks (advantageous).
- Have a hands-on, proactive mindset and a strong sense of ownership.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Able to work under pressure.
