A long-established organisation with a mission-critical focus is hiring a mid-senior level Software Engineer to help modernise and support a core internal system that plays a key operational role. This isn’t a typical developer job; you will be working on a live, business-critical platform that keeps a major logistical operation running.

The Role

Join a small, focused development team maintaining and evolving an in-house system that underpins real-time operations. The platform is built using their internal software packages, a low-code enterprise tool. Prior experience isn’t expected as training will be provided, but you must bring strong experience in Java, C#, Python or similar backend languages, and a willingness to learn. You’ll help modernise the UI, currently written in native JavaScript, and work closely with a SQL Server backend.

What They’re Looking For

  • 5+ years’ experience delivering enterprise software solutions.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience maintaining database environments.
  • A keen eye for modernising legacy UI code using JavaScript.
  • Clear communication skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and ability to work autonomously.

Working Setup

Hybrid: one or two days onsite to start, with flexibility to become more remote over time. Two stage interview process.

Benefits

  • 28 days annual leave + Bank Holidays
  • Medical Cash Plan
  • Generous pension
  • On-site parking with electric charging
  • Care for Occupational Health, Mindfulness, Counselling and Physiotherapy
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Gym Discount
  • Salary Sacrifice Car Scheme
