Head of Engineering – EdTech Scale-Up Are you ready to help streamline work for Education professionals? We’re on the hunt for a Head of Engineering to lead the charge at an exciting EdTech scale-up backed by an impressive VC who was an early investor for the likes of Depop and Spotify. This is your chance to join a passionate, growing team and build something that really matters. This is fully remote within the UK. Sponsorship isn’t available. Please note that the first 12 months will be hands-on, so we need someone still writing excellent code. What You’ll Be Doing: Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, keeping them motivated, supported, and unblocked. Roll up your sleeves to design, build, and deliver solutions across frontend and backend. ️ Shape and own the engineering roadmap, turning big ideas into impactful results. Break down complex tasks into clear, actionable deliverables for the team. Keep communication flowing—share wins, challenges, and updates to keep everyone aligned. Drive improvements in code quality, testing, security, performance, and deployment practices. Help grow the team by hiring top talent as the company scales. About You: Work with a modern stack: JavaScript , TypeScript , Node.js , ReactJS , and Next.js . You’re have a background as an established Full-Stack Developer who loves building and leading from the front. Is hands-on with system design and loves architecting scalable solutions. Has experience with AWS or Azure , plus Docker or Kubernetes . Knows the importance of best practices and can implement them at scale. Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic scale-up environment .
