We're partnered with a startup that's transforming how drugs get approved and reach patients. They've built an AI platform that replaces one of pharma's most expensive and time-consuming manual processes, clinical trial validation, and have just proved the concept with a major global pharmaceutical company, cutting internal timelines by over a year. They're close to closing a Series A, scaling off the back of multi-million pound contracts, and this is hire number one of several.
They need a hands-on Senior AI Engineer to work directly alongside the CTO, owning the architecture and delivery of RAG systems, agentic LLM workflows, and core AI infrastructure from day one. A building role, the vast majority of your time will be spent writing code and shipping features, not managing or researching.
What you'll work on:
- Building and shipping RAG pipelines that power AI co-pilots for clinical documentation
- Designing and iterating on agentic LLM workflows grounded in a graph-based data engine
- Setting up eval pipelines to track and continuously improve output quality
- Working directly with the founding team to translate customer feedback into shipped features
What they're looking for:
- Proven production experience with RAG systems and agentic LLM pipelines
- Startup background, you've worked in a fast-moving 0-to-1 environment and thrived
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, reliability over prototypes
- Founding engineer mindset: ownership, speed, bias towards action
- Regulated industry experience is a plus, not a requirement
Compensation and logistics:
- £80,000 to £140,000 depending on experience
- Fully remote, London candidates preferred
- Visa sponsorship available
- Equity included
