This is a career development opportunity for someone who has some experience within the Finance industry and would like a career path. This is a commercial role where you will learn how to assess lending risks and make commercial decisions. It is an analytical role but one that also has people contact.

You will report to a Director and work closely with them. Specific duties are as follows:

  • Spend time with, listen to and learn from the Directors to gain industry expertise
  • Analyse customer accounts to look for risks that might be a credit risk flag
  • Review business plans, again to assess risk
  • Work on many different customer accounts, all of which will be at a different stage so will require you to dip in and out of different customer accounts each day
  • Ultimately learn the art and science of underwriting to be able to work more independently

The most important personal quality is a ‘can do' attitude and thirst for learning. You will be given varied challenges on a daily basis and will be constantly picking up and learning new things. You need an analytical capability, perhaps you did an Accounting degree but want to pursue a more commercial role, or perhaps you have worked within an Asset Lending or other Finance type business. This is a role for someone who would like to spend the next few years in a learning environment with an eye on taking a senior role in the future.
