Job Description
Are you looking for a varied part-time role where you can combine your accounts experience with sales and general administrative responsibilities?
Our client, based in Fareham, is looking for a Part-Time Accounts & Sales Assistant to join their existing team. This is a varied position, supporting the day-to-day accounts function while also providing sales and administrative assistance across the business.
The role will be approximately 3β4 days per week, with some flexibility, and would be well suited to someone who enjoys working within a small, friendly team and is looking for a part-time opportunity.
The role
Working primarily with Xero, you will provide support across the existing accounts function. Your responsibilities will include:
- Raising and processing sales invoices
- Processing, coding and posting supplier invoices
- Setting up new customer and supplier accounts
- Keeping purchase and sales ledger records accurate and up to date
- Dealing with finance-related queries from customers, suppliers and colleagues
- Providing general administrative assistance to the finance team
Sales & administration support
As well as your accounts responsibilities, you will work alongside the sales and wider administration team, helping with:
- Preparing quotations using existing templates and price lists
- Maintaining accurate client, property and contract information
- Monitoring when regular repeat works are due and helping with client notifications and quotations
- Supporting marketing campaigns and managing responses from clients
- Updating client and supplier databases
- Providing general administrative support to the field-based team
The ideal candidate
We are looking for someone who is organised, accurate and adaptable, with the ability to manage a range of tasks and priorities.
Previous experience in an accounts administration role is essential, particularly experience covering purchase and sales ledger responsibilities. Experience with Xero would be an advantage, although candidates with experience using other accounting systems, such as Sage, will also be considered.
You will be confident using your own initiative and comfortable communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues. The ability to work independently, manage your workload effectively and maintain a high level of accuracy is essential.
Most importantly, you should enjoy working in a varied role and be willing to provide support across the wider team whenever required.
