We are an established family run company who have been providing care for people in our community for over 30 years. We offer stable year-round work and have been rated Good by the CQC.
We are looking for a caring, kind and compassionate Health care Trainer within our Office. You will be required to deliver high quality training to all our staff, some that have been with us many years and ones just starting their career with us.
Training:
- Develop and deliver training sessions, induction training and practical training along with various health and social care topics.
- Topics include:
- Equality and diversity
- Fluids and nutrition
- Person centred care
- Recording and reporting
- Fire safety
- Food hygiene
- Health and safety/First aid
- Infection control
- Medication administration
- Moving and handling
- Safeguarding
- Dementia
You will be required to deliver these training topics both in person and using online methods, assessing the knowledge of our staff's skills through written, practical and observations. Some one-to-one training will need to be provided so that carers can gain more experience in certain areas. You would offer guidance on career development and progression to those carers willing to develop in the health and social care sector.
You will be fully trained to use our new online training system which will help you keep a record of all the training you have provided and help keep on track with any training that needs to be refreshed. This also helps ensure that the online training programme is kept up to date with any new legislations, keeping up to date with the CQC (Care Quality Commission) and other relevant authorities.
A telephone interview will be carried out by the company. We then carry out a face-to-face interview. Once the interview has been completed and the job offer accepted you will be enrolled onto our induction programme which will be followed by shadow shifts, enabling you to become confident in your new role. You will be a contracted employee with an initial probationary period of three months.
Our ideal candidate:

- Be reliable and trustworthy.
- Be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- Train the trainer qualification in first aid and manual handling. Ideally train the trainer Oliver McGowan.
Essential Skills:
- UK Driving licence and use of a car.
- A degree or vocational qualification in health and social care or related subject (NVQ Level 3 or 4 in health and social care).
- Knowledge of current health and social care legislations and best practice.
- Familiarity with E-Learning Platforms.
- Strong organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate learners.
Additional Information:
- 30 hours per week, permanent position available with the view to cover extra with holidays and sickness.
