Hartley Brook Primary Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 2 team. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils at a key stage in their education, helping them build strong foundations for future learning. Working closely with class teachers and wider staff, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils to access the curriculum, develop independence, and grow in confidence. You will contribute to a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring all pupils are engaged, challenged and encouraged to succeed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and staying engaged in learning activities
- Work with individuals and small groups to consolidate learning and promote independence
- Assist in delivering targeted support and monitoring progress against learning goals
- Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials
- Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ emotional wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with teachers and professionals to meet individual pupil needs
What we are looking for:
- Experience working with or supporting children, ideally within a school setting
- A good understanding of how children learn and develop, particularly in Key Stage 2
- A patient, adaptable and inclusive approach to supporting all learners
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning)
- A genuine commitment to helping pupils achieve their full potential
