As part of the 7 Day Service that we run, we provide Menopause Clinics to patients across the area. These clinics are designed to allow the clinicians to do a holistic assessment of every patient and to work with them to ensure that their needs are being met.

We are looking for a nurse prescriber to join our current menopause team. The successful applicant will join our team on a zero-hours contract and shifts will be requested by them and assigned by our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of so many people across our area who are struggling to get the care that they need.

Main duties of the job

The main purpose of this job is to provide high quality primary healthcare, to meet the needs of the patient population of Hartlepool and Stockton to the highest possible standards. You will do this by completing a holistic assessment of each patient with regards to menopause management and meet any identified needs.

Job responsibilities

  • Complete a holistic assessment of each patient with regards to menopause management and meet any identified needs.
  • Carry out physical measurements, such as blood pressure, weight, height, body mass index (BMI), and waist measurement.
  • Prescribe / initiate hormone replacement products, where appropriate.
  • Request bloods to facilitate further investigations, where appropriate.
  • Refer Patients to the Specialist Menopause Service, where appropriate.
  • Refer patients for additional support, e.g. making a referral to the Personalised Care Team, where appropriate.
  • Inform the patient’s registered GP Practice regarding any changes or additions that have been made to their prescription(s).
  • Attend Team Clinical Supervision.

Experience

  • Experience Managing Menopause in Primary Care.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to Work Independently.
  • Ability to Work as Part of a Team.
  • Knowledge of SystmOne Clinical System.

Qualifications

  • Registration with the NMC.
  • Training in Managing Menopause in Primary Care.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
