Hartlepool Borough Council are seeking to recruit and sponsor motivated, qualified Registered Nurses or Midwives who wish to undertake the 12 month Specialist Community Public Health Course (Health Visiting), subject to funding approval. The programme is split between clinical practice and university attendance over the period of 1 year; upon successful completion of the training programme, you will gain the SCPHN qualification and become a Health Visitor.

Requirements

  • All applicants must have a current NMC registration and must adhere to the NMC code of conduct at all times.
  • All recruitment is subject to safer recruitment process and enhanced DBS checks.
  • Applicants must have a UK Bachelor Honours Degree or an overseas equivalent.
  • A combination of academic and experiential learning will be considered on its own individual merits.

Contract & Placement

Following successful application and interview, you will join us from September 2026 with a 1 year fixed term contract. Students will be supported and will work within an integrated 0-19 locality team in Hartlepool.
