Program Overview
Over the three-year programme, starting in September 2026, you will attend university or have study time one day a week and work four days a week. You will also need to set aside additional time to complete assignments and prepare for assessments. After successfully completing your degree, you will be offered a permanent role as a Children's Social Worker in Hartlepool and will apply to register with Social Work England.
Work Structure
As you progress, you will begin to hold a small, supported workload, always with guidance from your Apprenticeship Lead and Team Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities
You will work closely with children, families, social workers, team managers, foster carers and other professionals to help improve outcomes for children. You will also contribute to written work, including clear, accurate notes and reports, and updating electronic records in a timely manner.
Requirements
Ideally, applicants will have access to their own vehicle and be able to use it for work. It is essential that you have some previous work experience (paid or voluntary), and experience in children's social care would be an advantage. This apprenticeship is subject to safer recruitment measures and will require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
