Automation Technician, Automation Engineer, PLC Maintenance Support - many factories have different names for these. If you are an Engineer with good PLC fault finding experience, able to read the PLC software and use it to diagnose and repair machine faults, that’s what this is.
My clients have developed a team of skilled PLC Engineers who support the Maintenance Engineers on large automated manufacturing sites in England, using your PLC fault finding skills to solve their problems and improve their site automation. The need for more support on more sites is growing, so they are expanding the team.
Role Overview:
Responsibilities:
- PLC diagnostics
- Fault finding
- Maintaining automated machinery
- Modifying PLC control software
- Electrical maintenance of packaging and processing machinery
- Site automation improvements
Location: Based in Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire to support manufacturers with high factory automation needs, mostly in the Midlands.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience as a Maintenance Engineer or site Automation Technician.
- Worked with one of the main PLCs (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, S7, WinCC, Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation, Omron, Mitsubishi).
- Skilled in using PLC logic as a diagnostic tool to locate and rectify faults in automated machinery.
- Hands-on skills and an interest in fixing production machinery and upgrades.
Rewards:
- Basic salary from £46,000 - £48,000.
- 40-hour working week PLUS paid overtime.
