Employment Type: Full-time, 40 hours. This role includes travel to various care homes in and around the M3 & M4 corridor. A driving licence is essential, but a vehicle will be provided.
We’re looking for a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our friendly Maintenance Team, helping us keep our care homes safe, comfortable, and beautifully maintained for the people who live and work in them.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out all painting and decorating tasks, including preparation, repair, and finishing of internal and external areas.
- Work safely at height using ladders, scaffolding, and access equipment.
- Keep work areas clean and minimise disruption to residents and staff.
- Support general maintenance tasks (e.g. basic plumbing, tiling, minor repairs).
- Travel between homes as required to support the maintenance team.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures at all times.
Essential
- Robust and high-quality painting and decorating experience with a keen eye for detail.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team, maintaining a high degree of skill and professionalism.
- Ability to work at height.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
- Full and clean driving licence.
Desirable
- Painting and Decorating Qualification.
- Previous experience within a care setting.
- Knowledge of working with people who live with dementia.
- Previous experience of carrying out general maintenance tasks.
- Good IT skills and knowledge including robust skills in using apps and systems on iPads and other IT equipment.
