This role includes travel to our care homes on the Isle of Wight, so a driving licence and a vehicle is essential.

Locations: Bembridge (PO35), Ryde (PO33), Shanklin (PO37)

We’re looking for a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our friendly Maintenance Team, helping us keep our care homes safe, comfortable, and beautifully maintained for the people who live and work in them.

What You’ll Do
  • Carry out all painting and decorating tasks, including preparation, repair, and finishing of internal and external areas.
  • Work safely at height using ladders, scaffolding, and access equipment.
  • Keep work areas clean and minimise disruption to residents and staff.
  • Support general maintenance tasks (e.g. basic plumbing, tiling, minor repairs).
  • Travel between homes as required to support the maintenance team.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures at all times.
What We’re Looking ForEssential
  • Robust and high-quality painting and decorating experience with a keen eye for detail.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team, maintaining a high degree of skill and professionalism.
  • Ability to work at height.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Full and clean driving licence.
Desirable
  • Painting and Decorating Qualification.
  • Previous experience within a care setting.
  • Knowledge of working with people who live with dementia.
  • Previous experience of carrying out general maintenance tasks.
  • Good IT skills and knowledge including robust skills in using apps and systems on iPads and other IT equipment.
