Hart Process Services (HPS) is a growing multidisciplinary design consultancy with approximately 40 engineers and designers, specialising in:
- Process Engineering
- Process Safety
- Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I)
- Mechanical, Piping and Layout
- Validation
- Project Management
We support a wide variety of clients in the whisky distilling, chemical, and pharmaceutical sectors. With around 30 active projects at any time, our typical design project values reach up to £3 million in fees.
The HR & Recruitment Manager will lead the HR and talent attraction functions across HPS. This dual-role position combines identification, attraction, onboarding and developing high calibre engineering professionals – both staff and contract – while ensuring full compliance with UK employment legislation.
You will be responsible for supporting the HPS business growth strategy by pro-actively identifying talent to fulfil current and future roles within the business. Once onboarded these professionals will require regular training and development to ensure they feel fulfilled and able to grow within the business.
The ideal candidate will be organised, and confident in managing people, processes and compliance in a fast-paced technical environment.
Qualifications
- 5 years + proven experience as an HR representative, manager, Recruitment manager, or similar role, ideally within engineering, construction, or technical consultancy environments.
- Strong understanding of UK employment law, IR35, contract management, and recruitment best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit for technical, engineering, or niche roles.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and build strong internal partnerships.
- Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS platforms, and modern recruitment tools.
- HR or employment law degree strongly preferred.
- CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management or above (preferred, not essential).
Working Conditions
- Full-time position with occasional travel to events and interviews.
- Office based in Heaton Mersey, SK4 3GN
- Flexitime
- Flexibility in work hours may be required to accommodate deadlines and international time zones.

- Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)
