Hart Door Systems are looking for Engineers to join our fantastic team and support the growth of our business. Based in Newcastle UK, we are the most established British manufacturer of high-speed doors and shutters. Founded in 1946, we bring generations of engineering experience and pioneering product expertise to customers worldwide.

About the role: As an industrial door engineer, you will work as part of a nationwide team, travelling to customer sites across the UK. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of industrial door systems, ensuring all work is carried out safely and to a high standard. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical ability, physical fitness, and a proactive, can-do attitude. You will play a key role in delivering reliable service to customers while representing the company in a professional manner.

The ideal candidate will have a mechanical background, supported by electrical knowledge, and experience working in a field-based role. The position may require overnight stays and weekend work. We provide full training across our product range, along with opportunities for progression within a highly innovative company.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Installation & Commissioning of industrial door systems such as High-Speed Doors, Roller Shutters, Fire Shutter, Sectional Doors & Steel doors.
  • Fault finding, diagnostics, and repair of mechanical and electrical components.
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and routine servicing.
  • Reading of drawings and technical instructions.
  • Ability to work at heights from access platform.
  • Comply with company health and safety policies.
  • Liaise with customers on-site in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
  • Ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Completing job reports, service records, and relevant documentation accurately.

What we need from you:

  • Mechanical background required, preferable in the industrial door sector.
  • Electrical knowledge within the door sector preferred.
  • Comfortable with physical work and working at heights.
  • Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Essential).
  • Ideally you will have at least 3 years’ experience within the Industrial door sector.
  • Desirable qualifications include: CSCS/SSSTS, IPAF and RITB.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic with positive attitude.
  • Professional and presentable at all times.
