Harry James Group is a fast-growing recruitment agency, working with leading organisations to provide skilled professionals across renewable energy, engineering, and contracting solutions.

Location: Flexible (UK-based, with occasional meetings). Commitment: Part-time (approximately 2–4 days per month).

The Role

As a NED, you will work closely with our Founder to:

  • Provide strategic guidance on scaling the business and entering new markets
  • Support the development of a framework for contractors and long-term service agreements
  • Advise on opportunities within the international contracts market and help position the business for global growth
  • Offer governance, oversight, and independent perspective on business decisions
  • Act as a sounding board and mentor, helping us refine our strategy and structure for sustainable success
  • Use your network and commercial insight to open new opportunities and strengthen client relationships

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a senior professional who can bring:

  • Previous board-level or senior leadership experience (preferably within recruitment, contracting, or professional services)
  • Proven track record in business growth, scaling operations, or entering international markets
  • Knowledge of frameworks, tenders, and contractor management (highly desirable)
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to challenge and guide constructively
  • Integrity, credibility, and the ability to build trust with stakeholders
