Our Residential Conveyancing Department is looking for an experienced Residential Property Lawyer to join our friendly and supportive team in the centre of Pocklington. You will manage your own varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including freehold, leasehold and new build transactions, re-mortgages, transfers of equity and more complex property work.
While you will have day-to-day responsibility for your files, you will not be left to manage a heavy caseload on your own. We prioritise quality over quantity and ensure our lawyers have the time and support needed to run matters properly and deliver an excellent client experience. Client care is important to us. Our approach of allowing lawyers to manage cases thoroughly, rather than focusing on volume, is reflected in the consistently strong client feedback we receive.
You will be part of a genuinely supportive team, with regular meetings and ongoing guidance from the Head of Department, ensuring you always have access to support, discussion and supervision when needed. We believe in real work–life balance (not just saying the words) and we’re happy to consider remote and part time working for the right person. We have strong relationships with local agents and referrers, offering opportunities to network and develop business.
What we are looking for:
- Solid experience in Residential Conveyancing, ideally around 5 years +
- A positive, commercial approach to delivering legal advice
- The ability to build strong and lasting client relationships
- Excellent standards of client care
- Some experience or interest in business development and networking
What we can offer:
- A competitive salary and generous bonus scheme
- Flexible, hybrid and remote working options
- A genuinely supportive team environment with regular supervision
- A manageable caseload with a focus on quality, not quantity
- Free car parking
- A clear progression framework with individual career and development plans
- A great social scene
- A comprehensive benefits package including pension, life cover, health cash plan, staff discounts, 26 days holiday, cycle to work scheme and even an extra day off for your birthday
