The environment:
Harrow School is situated in Harrow on the Hill, northwest London, and is one of the best-known schools in the world. Around 835 boys study at Harrow and live in the School’s 12 boarding houses. Harrow School’s Sports Club is open to paying members of the general public when not in use by the pupils, and it also hosts sports events for local schools, charities, nationally recognised sports clubs and occasionally as a film location.
The role:
You will be responsible for the on-shift operation of the Sports Club under the direction of the Deputy Sports Facilities Manager, sometimes as the duty manager. The hygiene and safety of the facilities will be paramount as you pay close attention to ensure standards remain high. You will lead and motivate the team to provide a service that reflects the high expectations of the Harrow brand. It is an especially good role for those who enjoy the variety of assisting at events, or would like the option to develop in other areas of the fitness environment, as there is flexibility to work in our gymnasium, or to pick up some lifeguard experience. There is also an opportunity for those with a swimming instructor or fitness teaching qualification to pay a nominal fee to use the facilities to conduct their own private lessons.

A First Aid at Work and Pool Plant Operator are desirable although training will be provided for the right candidate. Using your strong written and verbal communication skills; tactful, approachable manner and ability to positively motivate others you will build strong, effective professional relationships throughout the School.

- Free parking
- Automatic enrolment in the School’s pension scheme
- Use of the School’s sports facilities such as the swimming pool, gym, and running track.
- Subsidised membership of the tennis, golf, angling and social clubs.
