Are you a strategic leader with a passion for improving the lives of children and young people? London Borough of Harrow is seeking a dynamic and experienced Youth Justice and Youth Manager to lead our multi-agency teams.

In this pivotal role, you\’ll be responsible for developing, leading, and managing a network of multi-agency services, with the primary goal of achieving better outcomes for children, young people, their families, and victims of crime. You\’ll lead a team of up to 30 staff and manage an annual budget of up to Β£2 million, ensuring that all services meet the highest quality standards.

About You

We\’re seeking a candidate with a proven track record of successful leadership and management in a multi-disciplinary setting, preferably within Children & Young People Services. You should be a resilient and solution-focused professional with a strong analytical ability.

Essential Requirements:

  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Ofsted, HMIP, YJB Practice Standards) and safeguarding processes.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the contemporary evidence base within youth justice and prevention, including the Child First Framework
  • Significant experience in a senior leadership role, successfully managing a large and diverse staff team.
  • Demonstrable experience of high-quality management of work with children, young people, and their families.
  • Proven experience in forging and managing successful partnerships.
  • Experience of leading a multi-agency team through significant change.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data to improve service outcomes.
  • The ability to inspire confidence and build a high degree of credibility with stakeholders.
  • Effective budget management skills.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, or with equivalent relevant work experience. A professional qualification in Social Work is essential.

You must be able to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and Saturdays. A satisfactory enhanced DBS check is required for this position.
