OverviewThe London Borough of Harrow is seeking a Registrar to join the Registration Services team within Legal & Governance. This public-facing role offers an opportunity to support residents during some of the most significant moments in their lives, including births, deaths, marriages, civil partnerships and citizenship ceremonies. Based at Harrow Council offices, with ceremonies taking place at the Harrow Pavilion and external venues across the borough, the postholder will ensure services are delivered professionally, accurately and in accordance with statutory requirements.As a Registrar, you will be responsible for conducting ceremonies, taking notices of marriage and civil partnerships, registering life events and providing advice and guidance to residents and stakeholders. You will maintain accurate records, process applications, issue certificates and liaise with organisations including the General Register Office, Home Office, other registration districts and coroners. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to work independently, particularly when conducting ceremonies and registrations outside standard office hours.This is a rewarding and varied position that combines technical knowledge, customer service and public engagement.
