Overview
In this role you will advise and support social workers and care managers on casework within the Transition/Young Adulthood team. You will act as Safeguarding Adults Manager when required and cover Duty Manager responsibilities, while handling complex enquiries and recording decisions clearly in Mosaic. You will contribute to safeguarding strategy and collaborate with internal and external colleagues. This is a role for a practitioner who can navigate multi-agency procedures and travel for business as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance to social workers and care managers on casework and safeguarding matters
- Support the Team Manager by fulfilling the Safeguarding Adults Manager role under local procedures
- Act as Duty Manager when required to ensure timely response to concerns
- Undertake complex safeguarding enquiries and coordinate with internal/external partners
- Record actions and decisions clearly on the Mosaic database
- Present information about safeguarding cases at meetings as needed
- Liaise with colleagues across teams to support case progression
- Travel for business purposes as required
- Subject to Enhanced DBS check to ensure safeguarding standards
Key requirements
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to adults safeguarding
- Detailed knowledge of London multi-agency safeguarding adults guidance and Making Safeguarding Personal
- Significant experience in safeguarding adults’ enquiries
- Experience providing professional supervision to social workers, care managers or students
- Experience presenting cases at Strategy Meetings/Case Conferences
- Ability to present information clearly about safeguarding cases
- Registration with Social Work England
- Willingness to work occasional unsocial hours
- Ability to travel for business purposes
- Enhanced DBS check satisfactory
