Overview
In this role, you will manage a caseload of housing disrepair claims and deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice to client authorities. You’ll work with officers and senior management across four local authorities to resolve cases and, where appropriate, undertake advocacy. You may mentor junior colleagues and contribute to training and best practice. This opportunity supports a mission-driven team delivering vital housing litigation support.
Responsibilities
- Manage own caseload of housing disrepair claims
- Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to client authorities
- Collaborate with officers and senior management across local authorities
- Undertake advocacy where appropriate
- Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to training initiatives
- Help develop best practice within the team
- Support broader housing and civil litigation work when needed
Key requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX with litigation practising rights, or soon to qualify
- Experience in housing disrepair
- Ability to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice
- Comfortable managing own caseload and prioritising demands
