Overview
In this role you will handle debt recovery work within the Housing and Civil Litigation Team, supporting four local authorities. You will provide practical, commercial legal advice and manage your own caseload, including enforcement options and insolvency considerations. You will collaborate with officers and senior management, and may mentor junior colleagues and contribute to team training. The role offers exposure to a broad range of housing and civil litigation work in a supportive, development‑focused environment.

Responsibilities
- Manage your own caseload on debt recovery claims and enforcement
- Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to client authorities
- Engage with officers and senior management across authorities
- Deliver advocacy where appropriate
- Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to training initiatives
- Support the Disrepair Lawyer with related housing/civil litigation work when needed
Key requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX with litigation practising rights, or soon to qualify
- Experience in debt recovery and general civil litigation
- Ability to provide practical and commercially focused legal advice
- Capable of managing own caseload and prioritising demands
