We are seeking a Caretaker to join our successful Site Team. The role is part of the non‑teaching staff, and reports to our Site Supervisor. We have a supportive, welcoming staff, committed to providing the highest standards of education and welfare for all of our children.

The post is permanent and full time, 36 hours per week Monday – Friday. This may vary during the school holiday periods. The Site Team work on a two‑week rota, with one member of the team working from 6 am – 1.45 pm and the other from 10.45 am – 6.30 pm. You are also required to be a keyholder for the site and to attend alarm call‑outs (intruder/fire). Holiday entitlement is taken in negotiation with the Site Team and Headteacher.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Supervisor to assist with the daily management of all aspects of the site maintenance and safety. This post would suit a person with excellent DIY skills who can work to a high standard and who will be able to keep paper and computerised records; have the ability to work unsupervised and use his/her own initiative to complete a range of tasks around the site is essential.

About You

The person appointed will be responsible for:

  • Security of buildings and premises, including occasional weekend work, when necessary
  • Working with others to ensure Health & Safety compliance within the site
  • General repairs, maintenance and improvement/renovations
  • Porterage
  • Stock control
  • Fire alarm and water testing
  • Liaising with contractors and other agencies
