Job Description
The post holder is expected to work with all agencies in a multi-disciplinary way, to ensure the best co-ordination and efficient delivery of services to people. As change is a continuing feature of the organisation, a flexible approach is needed to carry out duties. Direct contact with people who may be distressed, have specific learning needs or, physical, sensory, or learning disabilities is involved so it is imperative that staff show sensitivity, tact, and discretion always.
You will be expected to work across the geographical area of Harrow and within any of the teams in the directorate therefore a full UK driving licence and use of a vehicle for work purposes desirable not essential.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Knowledge of a range of interventions and services provided by Social Services and other agencies including the private and voluntary sector.
- Knowledge and understanding discriminated against groups and the ability to ensure that services are appropriately delivered to meet their needs.
- Ability to demonstrate structure of own time and to prioritise competing demands to ensure all essential work is completed.
- Ability to produce and use workload information and acquire skills to use IT systems are available.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience of working with people with a physical, learning, or sensory disability and their carers.
- Willingness and ability to undertake duties outside of conventional office hours as and when necessary.
