The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Work Senior Practitioner to be a leader in our exciting, newly established Integrated Front Door Service. This innovative service model focuses on preventing, reducing, and delaying demand for long-term care by effectively triaging resident needs and resolving them through successive tiers of preventative interventions.

A core feature of this approach is the integration of Care Management and Occupational Therapy resources and practice, ensuring a more holistic and joined-up service delivery. As a Senior Practitioner, you will be instrumental in driving practice and performance development. This involves providing high-quality supervision and support to staff, always ensuring practice aligns with Care Act principles.

You will take the lead on complex cases, managing risk and critical safeguarding situations by working creatively and in strong partnership with others. We are looking for a passionate Social Worker and great leader who is keen to share their knowledge and expertise. A high level of interpersonal skills is essential for successfully undertaking multi-agency work with partner organisations, providers, individuals, families, and carers.

Your leadership will be vital in managing the team's essential functions, thereby helping to shape the success of this transformative new service.

  • Extensive knowledge of the legislation/policies that relate to the Adults agenda
  • Knowledge of the London multi-agency guidance/procedures for safeguarding adults and 'Making Safeguarding Personal'
  • Experience of providing professional supervision to social workers, care managers, and/or students
  • Ability to present information about safeguarding adults' cases
  • Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW or equivalent)
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Commitment to working occasional unsocial hours
  • Ability to travel for business purposes
