The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a dedicated Business Support Officer to join our core Business Support Administration Team, specifically supporting the Adults Directorate within the Safeguarding and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) division. This vital role ensures the Council meets its statutory obligations under the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act, providing a high‑quality, confidential administrative service that protects the rights of vulnerable residents.
The post holder will assist with the daily workload of the Safeguarding and DoLS team, undertaking specialised tasks to ensure the service consistently meets mandatory Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements. Working flexibly across the Business Support Service, you will utilise your expertise to ensure effective service delivery in line with the Council's customer service standards. This position requires exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information with total discretion. By maintaining professional communication with healthcare providers and legal professionals, you will play a key role in the safeguarding of adults across the borough.
To be successful in this role you would need to have the following skills & experience:
- Experience of working with a wide range of professionals and different levels of seniority in a confidential manner
- Experience of working to tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a team player
- Arranging and preparing meetings, and taking minutes and actions accurately
- Working with competing priorities and experience of working across different service areas
- Awareness of customer needs and expectations within a business support environment
