Uxbridge College has excellent facilities for the delivery of Engineering, and this is an exciting time to join our highly successful team.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of Technicians in Mechanical Engineering.
- Take the lead on Health and Safety issues, consumables, stock and maintain an inventory.
- Prepare and maintain equipment for use by lecturing staff and students.
- Demonstrate the use of equipment and support the teaching teams in their delivery of the curriculum.
- Supervise students in the workshop ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements and good workshop practice.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience of working as a Technician in Mechanical Engineering.
- Skills in bench fitting, drilling, turning and milling.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Good communication skills to engage with young people aged 16 – 19.
- Ability to effectively supervise a team of Technicians.
