HRUC is a successful merged College Group, bringing together Richmond Upon Thames College, Harrow College and Uxbridge College, based across 5 vibrant campuses. As Head of School – Supported Learning for Uxbridge College, you would lead curriculum teams based at Uxbridge and Barra Hall in Hayes, our new SEND centre which is scheduled to open Spring 2026.
Reporting to the Assistant Principal for Supported and Targeted Learning, you will lead a team of curriculum and support staff, and will be responsible for the full range of provision on full and part time courses, including managing the quality of the provision. You will lead on development planning in the area, including supporting the team with preparations for qualification changes.
We are seeking an individual with management experience gained within Further Education who can demonstrate the following:
- Degree or equivalent and a minimum of Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector
- A skilled practitioner in teaching and learning, and experience of implementing strategies to improve attendance and retention
- Up to date knowledge of curriculum developments and recent initiatives in SEND, with knowledge of the SEND code of practice
- Understanding and practical application of inclusive learning strategies and a proven commitment to equality and diversity
- Successful experience of managing a team, including coaching and developing staff
- Experience of managing change and implementing new initiatives including curriculum developments
- Specialist knowledge and experience in SEND (desirable)
