What stops a great design from becoming a costly mistake? Who makes sure every home stands up to scrutiny, on paper and on site? This is a role with real responsibility and real influence. You will be the technical gatekeeper, ensuring full compliance with technical and CDM legislation, building regulations, and warranty requirements across all house types. If it’s being built, you’ll know it meets the standard.
You will track and report construction progress across multiple developments, working closely with the Architectural Manager to keep quality, compliance, and delivery aligned. When challenges arise, you will translate regulations into clear, buildable architectural drawings that keep projects moving forward. This position is not box-ticking. It is about protecting quality, managing risk, and making sure every home is built right, first time.
Qualifications
- HNC/HND/Degree in Building, Civil Engineering, or Architectural Design
- Excellent architectural experience – particularly house types
- Proven track record of delivering Building Control approvals
- Understand how the design aspects of a construction project influence and relate to performance and functional issues so that practical questions can be addressed at the outset
- Design and planning expertise & technical knowledge
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of Photoshop package
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Understanding of CDM Regulations, LABC/NHBC/Building Regulation requirements, Codes of Practice and Code for Sustainable Homes
- Good communication and professional presentation skills
- High degree of self-motivation and drive
- Persuasion and influencing skills
- Problem solving skills
