The predicted salary is between 15 - 15 £ per hour.

Although this is a zero hours contract initially, there are options to increase hours through summer camps, matchdays and additional projects depending on your circumstances. This is something that we will talk about at interview.

At Harrogate Town AFC Community Foundation, we believe in the power of sport to change lives. As the charitable arm of Harrogate Town AFC, we deliver engaging programmes that improve health, wellbeing, confidence and opportunities for people of all ages across Harrogate and the surrounding communities.

No two days are the same. You'll deliver a variety of high-quality sessions across schools, community venues and grassroots settings, working with participants ranging from young children through to older adults. Our programmes include:

  • Primary school PE and PPA cover
  • Premier League Primary Stars
  • Breakfast, lunchtime and after-school clubs
  • Nursery and secondary school provision
  • Holiday camps
  • Walking Football
  • Premier League Kicks
  • Mental health, wellbeing and inclusion programmes
  • Targeted community projects designed to tackle isolation and increase participation

There may also be opportunities to support our matchday activities at Harrogate Town AFC throughout the season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs of different ages and abilities.
  • Create enjoyable, safe and inclusive environments where participants can develop and thrive.
  • Build positive relationships with children, young people, adults, schools, families and community partners.
  • Adapt sessions to support individuals with varying abilities and additional needs where appropriate.
  • Monitor participant progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, confidence and respect through every session.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure programmes are delivered to a consistently high standard.
  • Maintain accurate registers and required programme records.
  • Follow all safeguarding, health and safety and organisational policies at all times.

About You

  • We're looking for someone who is passionate about using sport to make a positive impact.
  • Experienced in sports coaching, education, youth work or community engagement.
  • Confident delivering sessions to a variety of age groups.
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to motivate and inspire participants of all abilities.
  • Organised, adaptable and able to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Committed to creating inclusive opportunities for everyone.

Experience supporting participants with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or additional needs would be beneficial but is not essential.

Essential Requirements

  • A recognised coaching, teaching or sport-related qualification (minimum Level 1, Level 2 preferred).
  • Relevant experience delivering sports or community-based activities.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to undertake one through the Foundation).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to provide satisfactory employment references.
  • A flexible approach to working hours.

Working Hours

Our programmes operate seven days a week across schools, community venues and football settings. This role includes daytime, evening and occasional weekend work, with working patterns discussed during the recruitment process.
