We are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual to oversee stock control, goods receiving, storage compliance, and kitchen stores management within a busy catering department. The successful candidate will ensure that stock levels support production requirements while maintaining strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), HACCP principles, and all relevant Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation.
- To maintain a strict stock control system in line with production requirements and to order provisions accordingly.
- To ensure the stores within the kitchen area are always clean and tidy and cleaning schedules are adhered to.
- To assist the department in sourcing competitive suppliers.
- To ensure the delivery of goods at an acceptable standard of quality whilst fully in line with Standard Operating Procedures and HACCP.
- Check provisions and vehicles on delivery for quality, appearance and quantity and ensure the standards fall in line with Standing Operating Procedures.
- Liaise with Catering Manager or deputy regarding ordering of provisions and ensure quantities are maintained and kept, to identify minimum levels.
- Ensure stock is rotated effectively.
- Ensure cleaning schedules are adhered to and acceptable levels of cleanliness and tidiness are maintained.
- Liaise with chefs to ensure correct portioning rationalisation for required food production needs.
- Continuously monitor and review standards and procedures under the guidance of the Catering Manager.
- Ensure all hygiene and Health and Safety Legislation is adhered to regarding food storage.
- Implement stock control system to follow HACCP and ensure audit trails are maintained.
