About the Role

Are you a passionate automotive and engineering professional ready to inspire the next generation of talent? Harrogate College are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team! In this rewarding role, you will be at the heart of our vocational training, directly assessing and mentoring learners through their Level 2 Autocare Technician and Level 3 Light Motor Vehicle Maintenance apprenticeships. Beyond hands-on assessing, you will take on a pivotal leadership role, managing and developing additional apprenticeship programs that align with our engineering subject sector area. This role will require you to work flexibly across locations. You will play a crucial part in bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical workplace skills, guiding apprentices as they launch their careers. If you possess strong industry experience, a knack for coaching, and the leadership drive to champion high-quality engineering education, we want to hear from you!

What You Will Do

  • Combine hands-on learner development with strategic programme coordination
  • Work flexibly across locations (mobile role)
  • Assess Level 2 Autocare apprentices and Level 3 Light Motor Vehicle apprentices
  • Support learners directly in their workplaces
  • Conduct regular, in-depth progress reviews and ensure apprentices achieve key milestones
  • Provide targeted coaching to support success
  • Build and maintain strong employer relationships and collaborate with external stakeholders
  • Align training delivery with industry and business needs
  • Manage and mentor a team of assessors

About You

  • Experienced automotive/engineering professional
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Proven experience leading teams
  • Assessors award and IQA qualification
  • Certificate in Education (or equivalent)
