Overview
The Corporate Affairs Team Leader has a unique and varied role within the organisation. The post holder will support the Company Secretary in ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive corporate governance service to the Trust as well as to the wider executive team.
This will include working with and in support of, the Board of Directors, Board Committees, Council of Governors, the Membership and relevant Executive Groups to meet their obligations to ensure the Foundation Trust can secure on-going compliance with the regulatory framework enforced by NHS regulators. The post holder will be required to develop organisational wide policies.
The post holder will provide oversight of the Corporate Affairs Team on behalf of the Company Secretary. They will ensure a strong and professional business manager function to Executive and Non-executive Directors.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety, Patient Experience and Effectiveness: To support Executive Directors, Non-executive Directors and Governors to lead on the delivery of the Trust Strategy. To achieve this the Team must be in a position to provide a high functioning business support service.
- Cost Effectiveness: Given the current challenges facing the NHS as a whole, it is imperative that as a corporate team, the Team function within a cost effective manner. For the purposes of service delivery, this means ensuring that the team operate within their bandings to deliver a purposeful service and have flexibility to cross cover.
- Statutory legislation: To ensure that all elements of corporate governance are managed effectively to support the continued registration of the Trust/HIF as a whole.
