Join to apply for the Bank GP OOH Support Technician role at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.

Harrogate GP Out of Hours provides an urgent primary care service when GP surgeries are closed, opening weekday evenings from 18:00 to 08:00 and 24 hours on weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Support the service with admin duties, booking in patients, and driving GPs.
  • Maintain and check equipment and stock in line with Trust policy.
  • Use SystmOne to book patients and ensure data entry is accurate.
  • Respond to general enquiries from patients and Health Care Professionals using computer systems.
  • Ensure Trust property is looked after safely and securely.
  • Assist clinical staff as necessary, including setting up or using medical equipment (e.g., oxygen, nebuliser, defibrillator) and handling prescription medications as requested.
  • Safely drive and operate the GP OOHs vehicle as required to convey clinical staff.
  • Clean up bodily fluids as required, using appropriate spillage kit (e.g., if a patient has vomited).
  • Chaperone for clinicians as required.

  • 1730-2300 (Mon-Fri)
  • 2245-0815 (Mon-Fri)
  • 0800-2000 (Weekends)
  • 1945-0815 (Sat-Sun)

Qualifications and experience

  • Preferred candidate will have experience of overnight work.
  • Experience of using computer systems to manage patient data and inquiries.
