The post holder will work as part of the children’s community health commissioned service.
Under the direction and supervision of the 0-19 team, the post holder will contribute to the provision of high-quality services for children, young people, parents, carers, and families. This will be within the framework of the Healthy Child Programme and the Best Start in Life priorities, proactively delivering the national and Public Health agendas in response to identified health and social needs. The post involves working in partnership with other agencies to meet agreed standards, objectives, and statutory requirements.
To support the 0-19 team in delivering the Healthy Child Programme, ensuring services are provided within the tiered model approach—building community capacity, universal, universal plus, and universal partnership plus.
The role includes contributing to the development, delivery, and reporting of health-promoting activities across various settings. Responsibilities also encompass delivering evidence-based early intervention programs to support children, young people, and families, such as programs related to behavior, toileting, speech and language development, accident prevention in the home, oral health promotion, healthy weight, and physical activity.
The post holder will also signpost and provide information for parents and young people, communicating effectively and understandably to ensure clarity and support.
