Due to ongoing growth, our Engineering Team now have an exciting new opening for a Maintenance and Minor Works Manager to join us. You will play a critical role in supporting the maintenance and upkeep of the building's structural elements, including walls, floors, ceilings, windows, and doors, coordinating repair and renovation projects.

We are looking for a strong leader who will oversee our internal maintenance team of 13 which runs as a 24‐7 operation, alongside specialist contractors allocated job to job. We are looking for someone to really shape the future structure of the team, moving from a reactive to proactive nature, carefully planning and strategising minor works projects and ensuring we have allocated the necessary time and resources to fix these matters to the highest standard, moving from quick fixes to more planned maintenance projects.

About the Role

In this role you will assist with the development of the building fabric team's capabilities and work with contractors to improve service levels for the estate, ensuring a safe environment is maintained. You will be accountable for supporting and developing your team and driving a high‐performance culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Building Fabric Maintenance Engineers.
  • Lead on minor works repairs and improvements.
  • Undertake site inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, regulations and quality standards.
  • Identify defects, escalate remedial actions and monitor workmanship standards.
  • Collaborate with specialist contractors and suppliers to ensure cost‐effective and timely delivery.
  • Manage and improve the PPM schedule to extend the life of building components.
  • Build and develop an asset management plan to enable efficient capital investment.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and building codes.
  • Organise annual building fabric surveys and challenge design solutions to minimise business impact.
  • Manage the operational maintenance budget and support financial forecasting.

Qualifications

  • Demonstratable experience in building fabric maintenance management.
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Building, Construction Management, or Building Surveying is essential.
  • Proven experience in a clerk of works type role for building maintenance.
  • Excellent knowledge of building construction, materials and finishes.
  • Familiarity with Construction Contracts, Specifications, H&S regulations and CDM.
  • Knowledge of CAFM systems, asset management and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Membership of ICWCI, RICS or another relevant professional body is desirable.
  • Experience in Luxury Retail, Hospitality or similar environments is advantageous.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Certificate is desirable.
