Pastry Junior Sous Chef
Here at Harrods, we currently house more celebrity chefs, exclusive dining brands and unique food halls than any other location in the UK. As a Pastry Junior Sous Chef you will be joining a passionate, supportive, and award-winning pastry team, all within our iconic Knightsbridge store.
About The Role
As a Pastry Junior Sous Chef, you’ll lead your team to ensure that a correct and professional operation within the Kitchens is carried out at all times. You’ll be responsible for setting daily production levels, monitoring all goods received from internal and external vendors and production, ensuring that quality standards are met.
You’ll manage the day-to-day administration and production ensuring compliance to all internal systems including SAP and our food safety management system QADEX. You’ll be responsible for effective storage, ordering food stock and planning production levels to minimise wastage and ensure that stock checks are completed in a timely manner. By adhering to all Health & Safety regulations and procedures, you’ll set a high standard of food safety in the daily operations.
About You
You’ll have a strong track record working in fine patisserie, with time spent in a 5* luxury hotel, high end patisserie or similar environment, and experience managing large brigades. Having a great knowledge and passion for food and drink is essential. You’ll have great time-management skills and a strong customer focus when dealing with both internal and external parties.
You’ll have exceptional interpersonal skills and a good attention to detail, which will be evident through paperwork completed, organisation of department and sufficient stock levels. You’ll be able to demonstrate effective leadership and management skills by coaching, inspiring and motivating the team. Having good PC literacy is a must (Word, Excel and preferably SAP).
