Our Facilities team is now looking for a Hospitality Cleaning Manager to join us on the night shift, supporting our world-famous Knightsbridge store. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring our 22 restaurants are maintained to the highest standards, even while the city sleeps.
In this role, you will lead and support the cleaning team overnight, playing a crucial part in maintaining food safety and hygiene across our kitchens and restaurants, upholding the outstanding standards that make Harrods exceptional. You will directly line manage two Assistant Managers and oversee a team of 55 made up of Supervisors and Operatives. You will be liaising with different stakeholders across the business to drive forward operational improvements and solutions from behavioural to systems to equipment and much more.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing night-time cleaning and hygiene operations, with a strong focus on food safety.
- Conducting regular safety inspections and taking immediate action on any issues.
- Managing and developing your team, including recruitment, training, and performance reviews.
- Coordinating shift rotas and ensuring efficient colleague allocation.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support seamless operations.
- Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and data protection policies.
- Leading regular team meetings to communicate updates and expectations.
This role is working 5 days over 7 on a shift pattern, our night shift is 8pm - 5am. Please note you will also need to work every 1 in 3 weekends on a day shift as part of the Management rota.
You will be a confident and proactive leader with a strong background in operations or facilities management within a complex or high-profile environment. Your ability to lead a team, drive high standards and maintain a positive working culture will be key to your success.
You will also have:
- Ideally experience working in a food production environment with a focus on food safety.
- Experience managing a large team.
- Be approachable and personable with colleagues, building strong working relationships.
- A proactive approach with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Good PC literacy, including Word and Excel.
- A strategic focus to drive improvement and increase efficiencies.
- Be flexible to work a slightly earlier shift that overlaps with the day managers once a week to allow for collaboration and growth.
