Job Description

This is a Hybrid Role

We are looking for a POS Developer to join our IT Team here at Harrods. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and deploying solutions for the Enactor based Point of Sale system.

About the Role

As the POS Developer you will work as part of an agile cross-functional team, collaborating with other developers, architects, application specialists, QA engineers, and project managers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements and follow best practices.

You will also;

  • Work with the DevOps team to Deploy and monitor applications using tools like Azure DevOps and GitHub, alongside other industry best practice tooling like Dynatrace
  • Write technical documentation and troubleshooting issues using Confluence as well as Azure DevOps and/or Jira.
  • Carry out unit testing, integration testing, and where appropriate performance testing, using JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, JMeter and Cucumber
  • Keep up to date with new and emerging technologies, methodologies and tools, making recommendations for change when appropriate, and being able to explain and demonstrate the associated benefits

About You

The ideal candidate will have passion for new technology and industry trends, with a particular interest in cloud technologies, and you must also be someone who keeps their knowledge current through training as well as exposure through project engagement.

You will also have the following;

  • Previous experience as a Software Engineer within a distributed agile team, developing large scale software systems within the Java/J2EE stack
  • Experiencing building and consuming APIs, with knowledge of best practices
  • Clear understanding of microservices architecture, including designing, building and deploying microservices applications
  • Be Proficient working with Eclipse, VS Code, Visual Studio, Git and GitHub
