Overview
As the Commis Chef in our production kitchen, you\’ll be part of the team who create all the wonderful fresh salads & sandwiches that our unique food hall sells daily. Reporting into the Chef de Partie, you\’ll be a key member of the team, whose role is integral to the smooth operation and delivery of the Kitchen operations. You\’ll be responsible for the organisation, stock rotation and labelling of food stored ensuring that all administration for your own section is completed and complies with the deadlines set. In this role, you\’ll guarantee that Food Safety standards are adhered to by enforcing the high standard of hygiene and sanitation in all food-related outlets.
Having knowledge and passion for food and drink is essential, ideally with time spent in a high volume kitchen e.g. cruise ships or luxury hotel environment. In return you\’ll be given all the training and support you\’ll need to develop your kitchen career at Harrods. You\’ll have great time-management skills and a strong customer focus when dealing with both internal and external parties. You\’ll have exceptional interpersonal skills and a good attention to detail, which will be evident through paperwork completed, organisation of department and sufficient stock levels.

Responsibilities
- Organise, rotate and label food stored in your section and ensure that all administration for your own section is completed and meets deadlines.
- Guarantee Food Safety standards by upholding high hygiene and sanitation practices in all food-related outlets.
- Work under the direction of the Chef de Partie as part of the production kitchen team.
Qualifications / Experience
- Knowledge and passion for food and drink is essential, ideally with time spent in a high volume kitchen (e.g. cruise ships or luxury hotel environment).
- Great time-management skills and a strong customer focus when dealing with internal and external parties.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and good attention to detail, evident through paperwork, department organisation and stock levels.
- Willingness to learn and develop within Harrods kitchen teams.

- Competitive salary package of up to £14 p/h (made up of base salary plus service charge).
- Set contracted hours with paid overtime at 1.5 p/h; minimal late evenings ( majority finished by 10pm ).
