We are looking for a talented Buyer to take ownership of developing and delivering our Furniture range, ensuring it reflects our brand’s ambition and luxury standards across every channel. This role is a 9-month fixed-term contract.
About the Role
As a Buyer, you will shape the product proposition from concept to launch, driving commercial success while championing creativity and innovation. You will manage the critical path, supplier relationships, and product strategy, ensuring our ranges meet customer needs, deliver on trend, and exceed business expectations.
- Managing the end-to-end product development process, from initial concept through to in-store and online launch.
- Building and executing comprehensive seasonal range and buying plans that align with brand strategy and customer demand.
- Negotiating with suppliers, maximising sourcing opportunities, and embedding sustainable practices in development and production.
- Monitoring trade performance, adapting strategy to optimise sales, margin, and stock levels.
- Leading, developing, and inspiring your team, while collaborating with cross-functional partners to bring product stories to life across all channels.
Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs. About You
You will be an experienced Buyer with a strong background in product development, ideally within a fast-paced retail or luxury environment. You thrive on combining creativity with commercial thinking, using your industry knowledge to deliver ranges that excite customers and exceed business goals. Confident in negotiation, leadership, and analysis, you bring energy and vision to every project and are motivated to push boundaries while upholding the Harrods values.
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- Proven experience in buying and new product development, preferably within home, furniture and luxury categories.
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire teams and build effective supplier partnerships.
