Overview

Our Finance team are now looking for an Accounts Payable Support Assistant to play a vital role in the smooth functioning of our accounts payable and receivables function. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your career in finance with exposure to a variety of processes and systems.

About the Role

In this role, you will support the accounts payable and receivables team by ensuring that invoices, payments, and financial documents are processed accurately and efficiently. You will also be responsible for maintaining smooth day-to-day operations, from handling incoming mail and scanning documents to managing vendor invoices and supporting payment runs. Your work will help ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery across all areas of our Finance function.

In addition, you will also be responsible for:

  • Opening, sorting, and batching incoming mail and finance documents for scanning, validation, and processing.
  • Accurately validate scanned documents and enter data into relevant systems/applications.
  • Running weekly reports and distribute to the respective vendors and maintain organized filing systems
  • Supporting payment runs for both domestic and foreign vendors
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements, resolving discrepancies, and supporting debt collection.
  • Providing general support across the Accounts Payable and Receivable teams and handling ad-hoc finance duties.

This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of three days on-site each week, in line with our Hybrid@Harrods policy.

You will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will have a basic understanding of bookkeeping, imports, and shipping. With strong interpersonal skills, you\’ll build effective relationships with colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders, always delivering excellent customer service.

You will also:

  • Have prior experience in a similar role, exposure to AP and AR tasks
  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with SAP experience is desirable.
  • Have the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Be flexible in your approach, with a strong work ethic and time management skills
  • Be able to adapt to change
