Our Store Operations Team is looking for an Engineering Manager with Water Systems expertise to lead our team. You will own the planning, operation, maintenance, and optimisation of water supply, treatment, and distribution systems of our main Building, Trevor Square and KCC water treatment plants. Alongside this, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across our Engineering department allowing you to develop and contribute to other key areas of the business.
About the Role
You will lead a team of 6 Technical staff collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve water system goals, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and the delivery of safe, reliable water services to the community. In this role you will…
- Oversee the daily operations of Main Building, Trevor Square and KCC water treatment plants, cooling towers, hot and cold water distribution systems, borehole extraction and related infrastructure.
- Lead and inspire 6 direct reports, empowering them to deliver exceptional work.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimise downtime and ensure system reliability.
- Monitor and analyse system performance data to optimise efficiency and address issues proactively.
- Ensure that all work is in line with industry best practice adhering to relevant Health and Safety Regulations, conducting regular inspections and submitting required reports.
- Develop and manage operational and capital budgets for water system projects.
- Identify and prioritise infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and replacements ensuring compliance, energy reductions and an increased resilience level are provided where possible.
- Develop and manage contracts for water system services, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Support sustainability initiatives including low-carbon objectives.
